Mathematics Education Research Group

 

Purpose

The purpose of the Mathematics Education Research Group at Sam Houston State University is to pursue a research agenda that contributes to the base of research in mathematics education. The goals of the agenda are to investigate mathematics learning, with an emphasis on
  • the learning of preservice and inservice teachers at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels
  • the impact of varied curricula, instructional strategies, and methods of assessment
  • the use of appropriate methodology (both quantitative and qualitative), analysis, and reporting techniques to address relevant research questions
  • with a commitment to the dissemination of findings, continued growth in collaborative work, and leadership within the mathematics education community.
